MOUSSA'S STORY

2021 | 14 minutes

Moussa worked at a garden nursery for the Municipality in Aleppo, Syria. But when war broke out in 2011, rebels captured him and accused him of being a traitor working for the government. Fearing for his life, he escaped with his family to Lebanon where they survived a day at a time in a refugee camp, living in a 3mx4m tent, sleeping and cooking on the floor. His kind-heartedness and determination that his five children receive an education wins the heart of a Canadian volunteer, who helps the family get immigration papers for a new life in Canada.
