Rabondro Reserve, a 3,000 hectare rainforest is home to many native species unique to Madagascar. But it is penned in by villages and expanding rice fields which threaten the enduring existence of the ecosystem. When a group of local Malagasy people passionate about the environment form an NGO (non-governmental organization) to protect the forest, they find that the key to conservation is involving the community in environmental education and activities.
