CLAUDIA MORAWETZ researched, wrote and edited her first documentary, a 40-minute memoir about a World War II Spitfire pilot, which hooked her on story-telling through film. She decided to learn from the pros and enrolled in the Documentary Certificate program at Capilano University, where she nurtured her passion and aptitude for story telling, directing and editing. Claudia is keen to make historical, environmental and human interest films, which educate the viewer through engrossing story-telling, vibrant cinematography and dynamic graphical explanations.
Prior to devoting herself to raising two amazing young ladies alongside her superbly supportive husband, Claudia was a computer geek! After receiving a B.Sc. (U. of Toronto) and M.Sc. (SFU) in computer science, Claudia spent 10 years in software development and management in the animation and special effects industry. She is not afraid of technology, and editing is one of her favourite parts of film production. Never content without several projects on the go, she takes time out to play chamber music (piano and flute), scuba dive and de-stress in the peace and nature of annual wilderness canoe camping trips.
